In the Robotics Lab, makers develop an understanding of "how things work" through hands-on activities that demonstrate the principles of simple and motorized machines. They gain experience with design and problem solving through the use of gears, motors, wheels and axles, pulleys, and remote control devices to create their own robotic creation to take home.
Participants must currently be 9 years to 12 years old.
Ever wanted to ride an Ender dragon? Now you can! We'll teach you how to feed, tame, and ride your very own custom dragon. Learn to alternate the model and its texture to create different breeds of dragons. Use conditionals for logic expressions and create interactions between your Java files. This camp has been modified for beginners though advanced makers will appreciate the included challenges.
Participants must currently be 9 years to 12 years old.
A vinyl cutting machine opens the doorway to a wonderful world of creativity! Makers will learn to get hands-on with a vinyl cutter and various vinyl material types to create their own custom-designed products including, a wall sign, wood plank, and t-shirt. You'll be asking them to make you something next!
Participants must currently be 9 years to 12 years old.
Imagination meets technology when makers get an intro to modeling software and 3D printer basics to fabricate their own designs straight from their imagination. Makers be fascinated to see a model they design come to life before their eyes during the first camp session. Each session explores intro 2D and 3D modeling techniques that makers will use to make their own 3D creations that they take home. Makers may choose from select pre-designed models to fabricate, as well as complete design and print projects such as spinning keyrings and a challenge to design their own useful model.
