earn to build and program a clever Otto robot. These blocky little robots provide an easy hands-on intro into the basics of robotics. We start with what makes a robot and the basic component groups that all robots have, before moving on to building the 3D printed body and assembling the electronic components. What happens once the robot is built? We start having FUN coding Otto to life. We'll start off with block-based coding and then move on to the text-based Arduino programming language to program Otto's touch, ultrasonic, and sound sensors to respond to its environment. Basically, we're making Otto walk, sing, dance, and more based on the inputs received.
Participants must currently be 8 years to 16 years old.
In this camp, we'll be learning the fundamentals of how to paint miniatures! Makers will learn about the different types of miniatures, the best ways to paint the little nooks and crannies, and learn how color theory impacts what parts of the miniature stands out! Makers will also design their own miniature to paint and take home!
Participants must currently be 8 years to 16 years old.
In this camp, makers will learn to create their own custom mobs including make them attack, wander and watch an assigned target.
Makers will learn how to Create and edit texture maps, export a model as a Java class, explore factory concepts, and explore artificial intelligence all while building their mod using Java coding, and learn the basic fundamentals of how code works, and how it helps the computer understand simple commands!
Participants must currently be 8 years to 16 years old.
In this week's course, students will have a variety of activities they will be doing, with each day having a specific theme!
MONDAY: Build a hand cranked automaton of a bird flapping, a marching band, or a whale!
TUESDAY: Craft a laser cut marble machine which operates similar to a ferris wheel!
WEDNESDAY: Street Racers! Build the best body for our Sphero-powered cars to win the race! Learn about drag, aerodynamics, and how the engine of the machine matters!
THURSDAY: Learn to build a miniature claw machine, complete with lights and a working claw!
FRIDAY: 3D Pen mechanics! Learn to build a two cylinder engine, cars that can be wound up and race away!
Participants must currently be 8 years to 16 years old.
